Make the most of your #iELT18 weekend and attend high-quality training before the start of the main conference. You’ll have the chance to enjoy 4 hours of training with experienced facilitators in different areas. There are two different workshops to choose from: Making Effective Use of Video in ELT, led by ELTjam and ITN Productions and Exploring Group Dynamics, led by OxfordTEFL. Class sizes are up to 30 attendees.
This year ITN Productions are sponsoring the cost of the ticket to make it more affordable to attendees. Don’t miss this opportunity and join us!
Join ITN Productions and ELTjam for a pre-conference event exploring the most effective and engaging uses of video in ELT. The workshop will begin by looking at how video has been used in language education in the past, both the good and the bad, before discussing the video production process and examining what makes effective use of video in education. The second half of the session will look at various tools and resources available to teachers and content creators, and end with a practical session on creating activities and lesson plans that use video.
Note: ITN Productions are not selling or promoting a product or service to attendees of this session.
Why do some groups of students or trainee teachers seem to work better together than others? Do cliques form in your staffroom and what affect do they have?
Why do personality clashes happen? What is it about that thursday class you teach that gives you a sinking feeling every week before it starts?
Positive group dynamics almost certainly have an impact on learning and teachers, trainers and Director’s of Studies play an important role in managing them. We will explore the theories of group dynamics and apply them to some concrete challenges in classrooms and staffrooms. By the end of the workshop you will have a clearer idea of how to improve group dynamics in your classes and relationships between the people in them. You will take away specific activities and tips to use with your own classes and you will feel more confident resolving conflicts and even find yourself encouraging them when necessary!
