InnovateELT 2018

11-12th May, Barcelona

InnovateELT is a one-day English Language Teaching conference that takes place in Oxford TEFL’s school in central Barcelona. This year the event will focus on the role of fun in learning and teaching. What does it mean to make learning fun and is this even a desirable intention?

Fun?! Delight and struggle in ELT

For our 4th annual InnovateELT conference we want to focus on the role of fun in learning and teaching. What does it mean to make learning fun? Is this even a desirable intention and if so, can it be easily created by design? Is there in fact a need for challenge and struggle in language acquisition? If so, how does that impact motivation and engagement? At iELT18, we want to explore these questions in more detail, leaving you with a clearer sense of where, when and how fun might be incorporated into the experience of learning (and teaching) English.

InnovateELT is all about making connections with people. Meet learners, teachers, writers and publishers from around the world; hear their ideas and share yours. Join the lively Innovate community and experience the fun and excitement of this unique conference. As well as the programme of talks and workshops, there are plenty of networking and socialising opportunities throughout the weekend.

InnovateELT Conference and Pre-Conference Training sessions take place at Oxford House, an accredited language school in a great central location in Barcelona – moments away from Ramblas or Passieg de Gracia, a long avenue with two of most famous Gaudí landmarks, ‘Casa Batlló’ and ‘La Pedrera’.
